Mitch had to get his wind back, had to get back into the shape he wanted to be in, and had to get caught up again to playing at a high level. Last weekend at the Northstar Hoops Report state tournament I was really impressed with how Mitch played in the two games I watched and it’s clear he is enjoying playing with the Fury.
“I have really enjoyed playing with my teammates and feel like we have been performing well, but we also have room for improvement,” Sueker said when I talked to him last week.
“I am extremely glad to be playing the game I love again after missing my junior season of high school. I feel like my ankle is getting stronger every day.”
Mitch was seen scoring deep in the post and facing up from 15 feet last weekend and those are things he is working on now that his agility is coming back.
“I feel like I have been improving on my low post moves and aggressive play,” Sueker said. “I want to continue to improve on those things as well as offensive rebounding and attacking off of the dribble more.”
Numerous schools are interested in Mitch as he is a 6-foot-7 skilled forward that can play a couple spots.
“USD, Yale, Colgate, Southwest Minnesota State University (I have an offer from them), Michigan Tech, Kearney, Truman State, Augustana, University of Sioux Falls, St. Cloud State, Northern State, Dordt, Briar Cliff, Viterbo, Ithaca, St. Olaf, Gustavus, St. Johns, and Macalester,” said Mitch of the schools in contact with him.
“I don’t have a specific place I want to play yet, I just want to find somewhere that has great academics, seems like a great fit for me, and where I can play basketball. I like Math and Science a lot, and am thinking something along the lines of engineering, or possibly something in the medical field, but I am not completely sure yet.”
Mitch picked up his second NSIC offer yesterday when Northern State extended to him during his visit to the school.
