Jessing, who told Prep Hoops Ohio that he “has about 15 to 20 looks, all ranging from D-I to D-III,” appears to be a wing at the collegiate level. However, being one of the taller players for Northview, he is asked to mix it up in the paint.
“In high school, I’m one of the taller people in the school … It just gives me an opportunity to work on my inside game during in high school, and my outside game during in AAU,” Jessing said.
Jessing finished second in the Northern Lakes League in rebounds (8.6 per game) and sixth in points (12.3 per game).
The only school that was specifically mentioned during our conversation was Ohio Dominican. However, there’s plenty of interest.
“I just want a school that I feel comfortable with that’s pretty close to home. And obviously playing time will come with time. But I just want a school that fits me as a person and a player.”
When asked what position he will play in college, Jessing simply responded, “A three guard.”
Jessing jump shot is lightning: quick release and hits the jumper from unexpectedly deep. If the defense stretches too much, that’s when he can beat you with slashing and finishing abilities.
“I’m a good outside shooter. Tall lengthy guy. Plays good defense. Gets some boards. Gets to the glass,” Jessing said, when asked to describe his game.
“I’m trying to get my ball-handling up better and my vertical … I can do windmills, 360s, I just want to go off one foot easy.”
He thrives amongst strong competition with All-Ohio, and coaches will have a chance to check him that in July again. Until then, he’s working out with Northview from 12-3:30 almost every day of the week.
Jessing also has around a 3.4 accumulative GPA.
As mentioned, he is looking for a school that fits him as a person and a player, and there’s plenty of college institutions who would gladly adapt to his demeanor and playing style.
