Thomas has since moved from the Oakdale/St. Paul area to the Orono area where he will play with the Orono Spartans. NHR watched Thomas play with Orono last weekend and he is assimilating with his team well.
He’s also playing with a new Grassroots team (D1 Minnesota) who just so happens to be the number two ranked Grassroots squad in the country and the 16U level.
“This spring was great,” Jarvis told NHR. “I love my team, we’ve won our past four tournaments. This spring I think I’ve learned how to play with and against division one players.”
Thomas is of course one of the most explosive players in the state. Jarvis is a power forward that Tartan listed at 6-foot-5 this past winter and we’ve seen him listed an inch or two taller this spring. Jarvis has the quick springs to finish above the rim, to beat others off the ground to boards, and to contest shots.
He’s also got other goals in mind in terms of how he would like to improve in the coming months.
“I’ve been working on my jump shot, I also would like to get my handle tighter,” said Thomas.
The Thomas explosive four man game has led to numerous college programs showing various levels of interest. Jarvis gave us the long list for this update.
“I’ve heard from Arizona, Michigan, UCLA, TCU, Iowa, Iowa State, Minnesota, Baylor, Wisconsin, Marquette, Creighton, Nebraska, Oregon State, Virginia, Texas Tech, Arizona State, UNLV, Florida, and USC (at the high major level).
“Wyoming, San Diego, Pepperdine, Northern Iowa, Drake, North Dakota State, South Dakota, UWGB, South Dakota State, UW-Milwaukee, Loyola, Tennessee-Chattanooga, Bradley, Eastern Illinois, and Old Dominion (at the other D1 levels),” said Thomas.
Jarvis was recently offered by Cal State Bakersfield and will be at Oregon State to start this week.
