He had this to say about his sophomore campaign.
“This past season I learned to be a more mature ball player and I learned that I can’t make careless mistakes. I also learned that being the leader and a point guard of a team I couldn’t take any days off on and off the floor.”
How would Weaver dissect his own game?
“I’m poised, intelligent, under control, athletic, good finisher with a high IQ. I need to work on being more consistent from outside and work on being a better mid-range scorer and my change of pace dribble.”
Currently, he plays on the Under Armour Circuit for Team Breakdown.
“It’s going really good, in my opinion, we qualified for the finals in July going 3-1 in California a couple weeks ago. I play with great players in Anfernee Simons and Tai Strickland and I’m being coached by one of the best in Kenny Gillion. I think we will do very well in the month of July.”
Weaver has eight offers on his plate from Florida, Villanova, Miami, Louisville, USF, USC, FIU and Nebraska. He also has interest from Florida State, Missouri, St. Josephs, Memphis and Wake Forest.
The latest offer for Weaver came last Wednesday from defending national champion Villanova. This kid is on his way up. Between playing at Oldsmar Christian and for Team Breakdown, he’ll drastically improve his game over this season and beyond. Look for more high-end Division-I offers to come his way very soon.
