After going 23-4 last season with alot of young players and played a tough non-conference schedule. They lost two starters, Robert Colon-signed with WSSU and Luke Papenfuse (took a school record 29 charges). Zach Hobbs, a senior and in my opinion is one of the top guards in NC is a 6’0 combo guard-PG & wing- and their leading scorer last season at 20.2 ppg is having a terrific summer, and junior PG Kenny Dye 5’11 has really stepped it up and has gotten high praise from a number of DI coaches this summer. Northside will be small again but real athletic. They will play a tough non-conference schedule again and should be one of the favorites to win the East Central 2A title again. Northside HS went to UNC Wilmington team camp June 23-25 and went 8-0 against a number of good 4A & 5A schools, they will participate in the East Coast Invitational team camp in Jacksonville, NC July 14-17. As for the regular season they will play in the Bob’s Auto Christmas Tournament December 28, 29, & 30.
