Montel Carlow (ECI Select, 6-0, G, Solen). Carlow has an explosive shooting touch, he moves the ball like a coach wants, he defends hard, does everything you can ask of him physically. Carlow has been great at recent camps shooting and competing and we liked what he did in the loss to Crossfire. On the verge of a big senior year.
Seth Friesz (PBC Buss, 6-3, SF, Chamberlain). Friesz had an array of contributions that included traffic boards, muscling wings off their angle, a couple treys, an attack physical score, and an attack off balance finish back across his body. Thick player that can handle in the backcourt as well as shoot, but strong enough to play comfortably around the basket. Trusted competitor.
Drew Jurgens (PBC Buus, 6-8, PF, Brandon Valley). Jurgens is an interesting prospect. His frame is strong enough to establish and keep position but he’s also agile enough to make a quick move and touch in before the defense can react. Gets up and down the floor fluidly and does it with effort. Was bigger, more skilled, and more agile than the WC United post he went against so Drew scored 17. A nice first summer viewing and we are interested to see him compete against another top prospect at this event. Definitely has a college basketball future and our viewing was full of positive impressions.
Cody Robertson (ECI Select, 5-8, PG, GFRR). There are times in your life where you have to admit to mistakes and our mistake was not remembering what type of competitor and finisher that Cody is when we did our recent rankings. Just like we saw at the Battle at the Lakes Cody was a complete pest to the opposition. ECI had trouble against Crossfire finishing late but Cody was one player that had no issues. Too quick for guys to keep in front and once he found space Robertson zipped to an angle and finished.

Hunter Burchill (ECI Peterson, 6-1, PG, Valley City). Hunter has the potential to be one of the more explosive players in his class. A strong rebounder for a guard Hunter turned all of his boards and turnovers from other into rapid pushes in the other direction. Has a lot of shake to his game using dribble separation into jumpers or quick attacks. Was able to score with feet set or attacking and touching in shots on the move. Hit at the arc, hit off the bounce, and created for others. We saw a lot of ability from Hunter today as he has a very promising future.
Kemal Hajric (ECI Peterson, 6-4, PF, WF Sheyenne). One of the best screen setters, physical rebounders, and charge takers we saw today. Does a great job clearing space with a screen and then moving off the screen to follow the play. Scored in double figures in all active ways. A strong role player for ECI.
Kaedyn Hanson (ND Cougars, 6-6, PF, Stanley HS). Hanson first caught the attention of everyone in warm-ups with his frame and quick bounce to the cup. Then he got an early pair of dunks as well as quick springing boards and contested finishes and it was clear that bounce is put to good use. The potential is there and if he got another inch on his frame we are talking some early NSIC offers I believe.
Noah Jewett (PBC Jewett, 5-10, PG, Tri-Valley). Knocked out four treys and was even better getting to the edge with his quick attack and strength and once to the edge Noah was able to stay on balance and power scores over the defense. Noah had 22 points and seven rebounds before fouling out against tMBA. Impressed with his ability to juggle the lead guard spot with the playmaking role.
Carter Olthoff (PBC Jewett, 6-2, SF, Brandon Valley). Carter had a jack of all trades roll We saw him push the ball several times, he showed off the perimeter touch with a three and a long jumper, scored actively off the ball twice, and looked really good defensively shuffling to the right spots and cutting off angles.
Trevor Savelkoul (ECI Peterson, 6-4, SF, MLS-Mohall). Good sized wing with a good frame that hit a couple shots from mid-range and also has the ability to score around the basket. Definitely a player that will score a big amount at the B level both from mid-range and on the move at the rim.
Jayd Vandewerf (PBC Jewett, 6-2, SG, Gregory). Was a board away from a double-double (10 and 9) in his opening game. Liked the way his form looked at the arc although he didn’t shoot that much. Made more of his impact moving without the ball to score four times as well as chasing down boards. Liked how he moved laterally on defense and seems to have a good defensive IQ.
