His list of Division I offers has swelled from four — Youngstown State, Penn State, Xavier, and West Virginia — to now eight, and he recently picked up a big one.
His latest offers are from Duquesne, Toledo, Northwestern, and most recently Ohio State
The 6-foot-2 combo-guard says Florida, Texas, Florida State, Stanford, and Michigan are all showing interest.
“Right now I’m just building relationships and everything, and just starting to talk to them more,” said Cohill. “So I’m not really sure right now who might be closest to offering me next.”
Though he’s a focused player and would like to receive as many offers as he can over the next two summers, Cohill says his top priority is to simply have some fun and enjoy his final years of grassroots ball.
“Recruitment is big to me, and if I was to have to make a decision today then I would do it, but I’m not going to,” said Cohill. “And I would hope to have a ton more offers, but I’m not one to just want to rack up a ton of offers and then have a ton of schools to pick from. If that’s the case, and that happens, then it happens. But I just want to go out and play basketball and be young and have fun out there.
He added: “But Hopefully this summer I can rack up a few more offer and just enjoy my last year-and-a-half of AAU ball.
You can expect to find Cohill — PHO’s 2nd-ranked 2018 — running with Ohio Basketball Club this summer, and you can also expect to see a much-improved jumper.
“I’ve just been improving my jumpshot, like my mid-range to 3-point contested and pull-ups, everything,” said Cohill. “And I’ve definitely seen a lot improvement from last year to this year. Even a lot of college coaches have told me they’ve seen so much improvement in it.”
He says his role with OBC is to lead and get buckets, and he’s predicting a very successful summer for the guys.
“I think I’m the leading scorer on the team, and everybody is playing well,” said Cohill. “We’re starting to click now, we’ve had some more time in practice to come together and I think we could be really good.”
