DMVelite Super Team Showcase Preview
Each year, the DMVelite Super Team Showcase plays host to a number of the areas most well respected programs. This year is no different, as a large number of the top 14U-17U teams in the area will be featured at two-day event in Bowie, Maryland. Saturday, the 14U and 15U teams will be showcased at Holy Trinity School, while Sunday’s festivities will occur at Bowie City Gymnasium. Below is a brief rundown of what to expect.

Players to Watch: Johnathan McGriff, Judah Jordan, Jared White, Jalen Melvin, Jordan Wilmore, Rashawn Blakeney, Olanrewaju Olamuyiwa, Jay Heath.
X Factor: We didn’t get the chance to see him at Spooky Nook, but Bishop O’Connell guard Jay Heath is sure to make an impact this weekend with Team Durant. He owns an exciting blend of confidence and skill at the lead guard spot.

X Factor: 6-foot-5 freshman Brandon Joyner was an instrumental part of Team Takeover‘s championship run at Pitt Jam Fest. The talented freshman produced at a high clip while demonstrating an impressive skill set.

Players to Watch: Domenick Bailey, Kolin Lewis, Hunter Auch, Xavier Joyner, Tommy Friberg, Kaleb Torrence.
X Factor: As the leading scorer for Christ Chapel this year, freshman guard Domenick Bailey demonstrated a solid skill set to go along with a great deal of poise. His ability to set the tone on both ends is a part of this team’s formula for success.

X Factor: 6-foot-3 freshman Joshua Perea makes a solid two-way impact on the wing for VA Elite.

X Factor: Chase Davis’ aggressiveness on both ends of the court has been evident. As the leading scorer of this team, his ability to create his own shot makes a huge impact.

Players to Watch: Langston Gaither, Sterling Anthony, Elijah Bowens, Hunter Bailey, William Mulquin, Josh Oduro.
X Factor: Maret School sophomore Elijah Bowens brings good two-way versatility, as he loves to create for his teammates but is a capable shooter from mid and long range. He is also a solid defender with good instincts.

Players to Watch: Shyheim Gilkerson, Ephraim Reed, Cam Savage, Myles Jones, Qudus Wahab, Milos Vasilic.
X Factor: With an offer already from Clemson, 6-foot-11 freshman Qudus Wahab continues to develop at a rapid pace. He gained beneficial experience during Virginia Academy’s state title run this year.

Players to Watch: Kenny Tyree, Donald Brewer, Frank Evans, Babayel Dia, Jordan Huntley, Evan Tebay, Darius Buchanan, DeAndre Anderson.
X Factor: 6-foot-5 forward Donald Brewer has been on a tear this spring. He is averaging 22 points per game over the course of his team’s last two tournaments.

X Factor: 2018 Bishop Ireton PG Darius Hines‘ ability to push the ball in transition and create for himself and others is vital to his team’s success. He’s a quick, intelligent guard who owns a nice skill set to go along with a high confidence level.

X Factor: 6-foot-4 Paul VI sophomore Devon Sims broke out at Pitt Jam Fest, producing at a high rate offensively while exhibiting a high defensive activity level. The future appears bright for the rangy young wing.

X Factor: In his first 8 games on the Under Armour Circuit, 2018 Georgetown Prep PG Jared Bynum has been exceptional. He leads the team in scoring, averaging just under 13 points per game. He’s also committed just 8 total turnovers.

Players to Watch: Andre Rafus, De’Vondre Perry, Darryl Morsell, Chris Orlina, Donald Duncan.
X Factor: Possibly the best shooter nationally in 2017, Andre Rafus blends a terrific mix of skill and athleticism. At 6-foot-9, he has a unique ability to put the ball in the basket.

X Factor: 6-foot-5 Bishop Ireton junior Jamie Pasha is a high IQ guard who competes, and contributes in a variety of areas on both ends of the floor. His ability to make shots is considered a key factor for his team’s success.

X Factor: 6-foot-4 wing Nick Albert gained valuable experience as a state champ with Westfield. The lanky junior has a solid frame to go along with a high motor.
