#7 Michael Bibby 6’1” Shadow Mountain
Bibby led the Matadors to another state title, ending his high school career on the perfect note. Michael is a poised guard with a great feel for the game. While he can score it, his ability to get other involved is what makes him a Division-I level point guard.
#15 Tommy Kuhse 6’1” Mountain View
The Mountain View guard was one of the most productive players all season. He’s a high IQ leader with the “it” factor. Tommy has the ball on a string, sees the floor well, and can shoot it from the perimeter. His change of pace and feel for the game are also high level. California Baptist and Concordia-Irvine are among the leaders in his recruitment.
#32 Tarik Cool 6’1” Desert Vista
While the Thunder didn’t have the season they imagined, Cool was still solid. At 6’1” he’s a lengthy point guard with good ball handling skills and the ability to make shots from the perimeter at a consistent rate. Tarik changes pace and direction well and can see the floor which makes him very good in transition. A Division-II/NAIA D1 prospect.
#35 Dontez Thomas 6’1” Hillcrest Prep
Thomas had a great year at Hillcrest, garnering attention and offers from numerous programs. The 6’1” lead guard is jet quick and athletic which helps him to get into the paint. A solid Division-II/NAIA D1 prospect.
#44 Julian Payton 5’9” Hillcrest Prep
Payton teamed in the backcourt with Thomas this year for the Bruins. Similarly, he’s a jet quick point guard that looks to get others involved. While small, he’s tough and gritty on the defensive end. A small college level prospect.
#45 Bryce Fisher 6’1” Shadow Mountain
A defensive minded point guard, Fisher guards the ball as well as anyone in his class. He’s a high energy player that is best in an uptempo system. Offensively, he’s very good in transition at attacking and finding teammates. Would be best going the junior college route and continuing to develop his offensive skillset.
#56 Myles Thompson 6’0” American Leadership
Thompson is a skilled lead guard that can score and distribute. He flew under the radar because of playing at a small school but has the ability to contribute immediately at the small college level.
#57 Kyle Van Haren 5’11” Perry
Van Haren is a consummate point guard and a winner. He picked up the slack for Perry when they lost star guard Markus Howard to Findlay Prep. His ability to control pace and get the ball where it needs to be can’t go understated. A nice small college level prospect.
#59 Malique Washington 6’0” McClintock
Washington really finished his senior season strong. The lefty guard plays with a high motor and is constantly playing on the attack. His ability to get to the rim in uncanny. He also defends at a high level.
#60 Malik Simmons 6’1” Mountain Pointe
A physical point guard, Simmons plays with poise and has a good understanding of the game. He handles it against pressure and gets the ball where it needs to be. Also, he is a high level on the ball defender.
