2017 Josh Long, G, 1 Nation (Western International High School (Mich.)): An explosive leaper that also has an effective jumper, Long was maybe the best player on the floor in 1 Nation’s quarterfinal matchup with the Iowa Barnstormers. He also hit the game-winning free throws with 2.8 seconds left in double overtime.
2017 Max Smith Drahos, G, Iowa Dynasty (Cedar Rapids Prairie): The talented guard poured in the points for Dynasty in its quarterfinal matchup. He was superb.
2017 Bailey Basala, G/F, 6’5, Iowa Barnstormers (North Scott): The inside-outside threat did damage all over the floor for the ‘Stormers, hitting 3s, getting to the rim and being a difference maker on defense.
2017 Austin Phyfe, F/C, 6’9, Iowa Barnstormers (Waverly-Shell Rock): A University of Northern Iowa commit, Phyfe was a beast against 1 Nation, really using his size and physicality to make an impact inside.
2017 Mike Flowers, G, 1 Nation (Southfield (Mich.) High School): The point guard canned a 3-pointer falling out of bounds in the corner as time expired in regulation to force overtime in a game 1 Nation went on to win in 2OT.
