-Strengths-
Small College Depth
The Division-II, Division-III, and NAIA field for point guards is plentiful for the state of Arizona. Tommy Kuhse is the top unsigned point guard with non-Division-I status but is one of many that could have an immediate impact in the small college ranks.
High IQ
This group of point guards, collectively, has a strong feel for the game. For many on this list, their basketball IQ is beyond their years. Michael Bibby, Kuhse, Jake Rueter, Matt Downey, and Kyle VanHaren—in particular—stand out among the rest.
Defensive Minded
There are some high level defensive weapons among this crop of players. Looking at the #1 point guard in the class, Cam Satterwhite is active with great length and athleticism which allows him to actively defend multiple positions. BJ Murphy, Amiri Chukwuemeka, Dontez Thomas, Julian Payton, Malique Washington, and Malik Simmons are all among guys who have carved out a niche on the defensive end of the floor as well. Bryce Fisher, however, may be the top on the ball defender in the class as he has the quickness, length, and motor to defend opponents 94 feet without getting beat to the paint.
-Weaknesses-
Division-I Depth
Only two players listed at the point guard position are labeled as Division-I caliber prospects. 6’4” combo guard Cam Satterwhite has committed to Loyola-Chicago while Bibby is entertaining Division-I offers.
Size
Outside of Satterwhite, there is no point guard that stands taller than 6’1”. In addition, there aren’t many point guards with much bulk.
