Eric Hunter
6’2 | SG | 2018 | Indianapolis Tindley
Eric had a big day on Saturday for Team Harris Elite 2018. He had 33 points earlier in the day and when I watched him that afternoon he still had his shot going. He played against a higher level of competition this weekend and proved his ability to score against those guys. He’ll have to work hard to try and stick on the ball but offensively, even with his thin frame, he’s got the ability to fill it up.
Shamar Dillard
6’4 | SF | 2018 | South Bend Riley
I’ve always liked Dillard but have been waiting for him to sort of breakout of the shadow of Damezi Anderson. They are teammates in high school and in AAU and Anderson likes to be a showstopper, however, Dillard is very under-the-radar. He showed this weekend that he can be the best player in a game and did that a few times. He’s big, athletic, and with his ability to rebound, he can make some big time plays on the glass. Shamar’s going to have to add to his offensive arsenal down the road with a better jumper but even with his current skillset he’s one that DI programs should track.
Jamal Harris
6’1 | SG | 2018 | Crispus Attucks
Well, it has been a while since I have seen Harris play in a live game and he was definitely improved. Now, he’s still not a guy I want taking a lot of jumpers but in transition he’s gotten better and finishes really well. High-flying athlete with tons of bounce, Harris can be the showstopper at times. Will need to see him define his game this summer. Is he going to be a point guard, a shooting guard? Either way he’s going to have to pick a direction but the upside is there, clearly.
Caleb Middlesworth
6’7 | PF | 2018 | Oak Hill
Caleb has seen a few guys in the years before him take the same trajectory as he has but Caleb could be one that has a different flair. He’s very comparable to Trevor Lakes in the 2017 class but Middlesworth is much more willing to play on the block. However, if you need either guy to stretch out and shoot a three, they can do it willingly and effectively. Want to see how his next 6 months of development goes because this is the time when those stretch fours either stay inside or move outside and become wings. I like his skill and willingness to play inside so we will see.
Anthony Barnard
6’4 | SF | 2018 | Kokomo
Barnard is a guy that could finally take that next step this summer. Like many younger guys, he’s reserved but also talented. Getting them out of that state of mind and being more assertive is key in their development and a big reason every summer why guys finally breakout. It’s mindset and I saw glimpses of that change in Barnard this weekend. He’s a wing player with a solid stroke from distance and enough size and strength that he could do well as a defender.
Lucas Lehrman
6’6 | PF | 2018 | Bishop Dwenger
Hardest thing to find is big men. Coaches always need them and there are never enough of them. So, when I saw Lehrman this weekend, it was a nice find for a guy that is plenty capable of being a college prospect. The 6’6 forward is big, filled out, and capable of scoring in the post. While mobile, he’s not going to be a guy that drives from the wing. He showed a ton of nice things for a big and is a new addition to the list.
