SG Demarius Jacobs (All-In/Young & Reckless 17U)
The 6’3” athletic and smooth shooting guard is known for his bounce and boy did he ever show it against the Iowa Barnstormers. Jacobs had a pair of monster jams over defenders attacking in the half court. Slippery through traffic getting to the rim. Jumper was streaky in this game although he did connect on one from deep as well as a mid-range jumper. Tremendous upside with Jacobs at the mid-major level. He had 18 points.
SG Tyler Chisom (All-In/Young & Reckless 17U)
Chisom is a 6’3” strong wing that plays with energy and a motor. He prides himself on the defensive end and was active getting his hands on deflections. Offensively Chisom is at his best attacking downhill going to the rim. Finishes well through contact. Had several nice transition finishes. Active on offensive glass. His energy was a major reason for the win. He had 13 points.
F Justin Hardy (Illinois Wolves 16U)
At 6’5” Hardy plays bigger than his height. His second jump stands out which allows him to get on the offensive glass with regularity. Converted several second chance opportunities. Uses his quickness and motor to maul people on the offensive glass. Hardy had 15 points in the Wolves win.
SG Drew Peterson (Illinois Wolves 16U)
At 6’6” this wing has everything you look for in a young shooting guard prospect. Tremendous size and length. Smooth athlete that accelerates with the ball in his hands. Plays well in the open floor with slick handles. Speed in transition going end to end for finishes. Plus plus shooter from three particularly off the catch. Was impressed with what he did defensively using his lateral foot speed and length to cause havoc. Peterson went for 16 points. Mid-major programs need to start tracking him.
PF Lenell Henry (Mac Irvin Fire 17U)
The Fire didn’t have their usual stars on the perimeter. This Morgan Park 6’8” post showed what he is best at. The long and rangy four man was mobile around the hoop on put backs and blocking shots on the defensive end. Even had a nice up and under move. Got to the line several times where he converted. Probably a quality D2 player with low-major upside at the next level.
