The Wolverines standout is a big time shot blocking presence. Jones has an explosive burst off the floor when swatting shots. Rebounds well in and out of his area with his feel and quickness. Offensively he flashes post skill with hook shots every now and then. Excels on put backs and in transition. Perimeter game shows flashes as he can handle it in the open floor and has a passing flare. One of the more intriguing 2018 prospects in the state.
Jones spoke about his season where he played primarily on the sophomore team.
“It went well. I was getting ready for varsity. I felt that was right for me. Coach Rob (Smith) wanted what is best for me and I respect that. It went great. We won city. I feel like I developed my ball handling skills which was good because I am trying to develop my game into a three. So I have been working on that and my jump shot a lot.”
Not much on the recruiting front beyond letters. If his game continues to develop on the perimeter expect his recruiting attention to pick up quite a bit over the next year.
