Seeing Jack Nunge do it his whole basketball career is why big time programs are talking to the No. 10 prospect in the state’s class of 2017 according to Prep Hoops Indiana.
Nunge has offers from Iowa, Vanderbilt, Clemson, Evansville, Toledo, Ball State and Vermont. He has also heard from Michigan, Purdue, Indiana, Notre Dame, Stanford and more.
These schools are offering and interested because of the shot and height Nunge provides.
“I’ve always been able to shoot,” he said. “It’s just kind of something I have right now. … Then they (college coaches) like that I play hard defense, I can shoot, I can post, I have good grades, things like that.”
Nunge has already begun to take unofficial visits, including to Michigan, Stanford, Notre Dame and Vanderbilt, but has not planned any official visits yet. He said he hasn’t thought about a timeline for when he may do that or make a decision as he focused on the AAU season and improving his own game.
“Been working on being more consistent with my shot, working on ball handling and working on post,” Nunge said. “Pretty much anything, I work on it.”
While he hasn’t created a timeline for making a decision, he does know he wants a school that offers more than just basketball.
“I’m looking for a school that fits both the academic need and a good basketball program,” he said.
