Thatch is a 6-foot-2 guard that is a terrific scorer, capable of attacking the rim, shooting from the perimeter, or drawing fouls and knocking down free throws.
Thatch averaged 20.7 points, 10 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.5 steals this season for a Sikeston squad that went 28-3 and advanced to the Class 4 Final Four.
Thatch also guards the opposing teams best player and, “Loves getting my teammates involved and I make everybody better around me,” he says.
He currently holds offers from Missouri and Tulsa and is hearing a lot recently from Creighton.
Thatch says the Eagles 16U team is still getting to know each other and develop chemistry, but says he has focused on trying to improve his game against terrific competition.
“So far I’ve been playing pretty good … I just have to get in the groove of everything,” he said. “(I am working on) my handles, shooting and athletic ability … A little bit of everything, just trying to polish up my game.”
Thatch says the biggest influence on his game has been his parents, and his bother who serves as his trainer. On the court, he says he looks up to LeBron James.
“Lebron just plays so hard, he is always aggressive and I love that about him,” Thatch said. “He is a great teammate too. I try to put most areas of his game into mine.”
