Choctawhatchee’s 6’6 2019 SF showcased a fine set of skills. He’s a high motor trail post with slashing ability. He excels at rebounding, and an elite finisher. He’s very agile and has great recovery speed and blocking ability. He’s still in the raw stage and still growing. He was a walking double-double all weekend.
Smith holds no offers. But he picked up new interest from Miami after his impressive performance. He also has interest from UF, FSU, LSU, Auburn and Georgia.
“Having no offers just makes me grind harder,” Smith said.
He averaged 15 points, ten rebounds and six assists a game this season in leading the Indians to the playoffs.
Smith detailed what he’s working on this offseason.
‘’I’m working on defense and footwork,” Smith said. “I want to be faster on my feet. I do a lot of defensive slides and workout with my trainer. I also want to be a more consistent shooter.”
Smith is enjoying his time on the circuit with Nike Team Florida,
“Playing with Nike Team Florida allows me to play against high-level competition,” Smith said. “I’m surrounded by great players and liking the exposure.”
Smith highlighted where he sees himself at the next level.
“I want to be a wing,” Smith said. “I think I’ll grow to 6’8.”
We love the ceiling on Smith and think he can develop into a High Major Prospect. He’s on that track.
