# | Name | Height | Class | High School |
1 | Justin Roberts | 6’0 | 2017 | Indianapolis Pike |
22 | Brandon Johns | 6’8 | 2017 | East Lansing (MI) |
11 | James Beck | 6’7 | 2017 | Grand Rapids Christian (MI) |
15 | Parker Hazen | 6’7 | 2017 | Columbia City |
4 | Jaylen Butz | 6’10 | 2017 | Fort Wayne North |
5 | Jaren Jackson Jr. | 6’10 | 2017 | Park Tudor |
20 | Xavier Tillman | 6’8 | 2017 | Grand Rapids Christian (MI) |
3 | Sterling Brown | 5’11 | 2017 | Carmel |
Notes: I’m not sure you are going to find many deeper back lines than what Spiece has on their 2017 roster this season. They have six players that are 6’7 or taller giving them a ton of versatility. Now, the flip side is they don’t have a ton in the way of guards but Justin Roberts and Sterling Brown should have one main role, get it to the big man. Even if they only add just a little offense and stay out of foul trouble, this group could be really good. Jaren Jackson made the switch over from Indiana Elite and should be the premier big man next to Xavier Tillman out of Michigan. Brandon Johns is likely going to continue you ascent as well. Parker Hazen is going to be the X-factor for this group if he can give them some wing shooting.

# | Name | Height | Class | High School |
20 | Isiah Thompson | 5’11 | 2019 | Zionsville |
23 | Arius Jones | 6’4 | 2018 | Fort Wayne Carroll |
3 | Trejean Didier | 6’3 | 2018 | Fort Wayne South |
11 | Walter Ellis | 6’4 | 2018 | South Bend Adams |
1 | Jimmy Beane | 6’5 | 2018 | South Bend Clay |
4 | Austin Boucher | 6’3 | 2018 | Fort Wayne South |
12 | Brandan Johnson | 6’1 | 2018 | Fort Wayne North |
14 | Gavin Bizeau | 6’10 | 2018 | Plainfield |
33 | Brennan Schofield | 6’8 | 2018 | Hamilton Southeastern |
32 | Jared Hofer | 6’11 | 2018 | Fort Wayne Carroll |
Notes: There is a ton of individual talent on this roster but fitting it all together will be the biggest issue. Isiah Thompson playing up makes sense with his advanced skillset at the point. He should be able to handle anything at this level and do it better than most. Walter Ellis could be the star of this group if he takes the step forward he is capable of doing. He’s got size on the wing and handles to be a tough defensive matchup. In the post, Gavin Bizeau and Brennan Schofield join to pair with Jared Hofer as the three forwards who all have legit size. The area to watch are the guards with guys like Arius Jones, Trejean Didier, Austin Boucher, and Brandon Johnson. How will they fit and are their going to be enough shots to go around? Good bunch and like I said at the top, there are plenty of talent to go around.

# | Name | Height | Class | High School |
11 | DeAndre Carter Jr. | 5’8 | 2019 | Muskegon (MI) |
2 | Mikale Stephens | 5’10 | 2019 | Fort Wayne South |
4 | Damarea Dial | 6’0 | 2019 | Fort Wayne Wayne |
14 | Lucas Kroft | 6’3 | 2019 | Blackhawk Christian |
3 | Hayden Smithey | 6’4 | 2019 | Bishop Dwenger |
4 | Javin Etzler | 6’6 | 2019 | Crestview (OH) |
20 | Jaivian Fowler | 6’6 | 2019 | Grand Rapids Union (MI) |
33 | Darius Alexander | 6’5 | 2019 | Fort Wayne Wayne |
Notes: This is a little bit of an unknown group. With three out-of state 2019s, it is tough to predict the overall makeup. However, Javin Etzler is a known commodity. He’s going to be able to bring some size and length with a little bit of a scoring edge. Hayden Smithey should be able to play just about anywhere. Damarea Dial had a really good freshman campaign at Wayne this past season and it will be worth watching to see how effective he is against top flight teams. This is the mystery of Spiece this season, sometimes there aren’t enough of those in high school basketball.
