Notes
Whoever said Boo Williams lost their pipeline will bite their tongue after looking at this team. A loaded group of young players, BWSL EYBL 15s have already won their first two tournaments of the season, and did so convincingly. Loaded with talented guard that all can go, this 15U team is perhaps the most talented in the state, and their scrappy nature will be hard to beat by anyone, anywhere.
Antonio “Spider” Bridy has shown a lot of promise early in his high school career.Players to Watch
- Antonio Bridy: A big lead guard that plays with toughness and a chip, Bridy already picked up his first offer from UMES earlier this summer. He’s a creator that can get in the lane, score it from all three levels efficiently and defensively he’s an absolute dog defensively. If he can keep his head on straight, he has a chance to be a really good prospect moving forward.
- Antwan Epps: Despite his age and height, Epps was arguably the best player on a Granby team that surprised a lot of teams this season. A lights out shooter from deep, he moves terrifically without the ball, reads screens well and has great footwork and a quick release. He was named First Team All Conference and Tidewater Newcomer of the Year this season.
- Chase Coleman: He has it in his blood, we know this, but he also proved that he’s more than just Matt Coleman’s brother, he’s a hooper of his own. While he doesn’t have the size of Matt, he has more range on his jump shot and the same great feel when running the show. Not comparing him to his brother yet, but he has shown he’s a terrific basketball player on his own.
- DeArvae Heard: He’s somewhat of an enigma because we didn’t see him play this high school season, but the Boo coaches have been raving about Heard for a while now. At 6’3″ he has a college ready shooting guard body already, and he’s an above average athlete that can shoot the midrange and guard multiple positions. He’s one that we’ve circled to get eyes on this summer for sure.
- Chris Weaver: On a team stacked with talented guards, Weaver will be one of the guys leaned upon in the post. At 6’5″ he won’t ever be the tallest player in the paint, but he has a great frame and a strong build, and he understands how to use it to seal or clear out space in the paint. He’s used to playing against players bigger and older than him, and that should come in handy this summer.
