Myja White Set To Have Big Summer
After a transfer and a year playing only JV, expect the name Myja White to show up a bunch this summer as he runs with EG10 2018 on the Adidas Gauntlet circuit. The 6’0 guard transferred from North Central to Brebeuf Jesuit before the last high school season and played JV all season but put up big points while waiting his turn. On Sunday, you saw a little bit of that as he dropped 33 points against Pocket City’s 2018 program in a loss. Myja is a solid guard prospect that can play on or off the ball and when he gets going, can be a high-end shooter and rip off a bunch of points really quickly. He should draw in a variety of college interest this summer.
Transformation Of Obermeier’s Body Could Pay Dividends
If there is one position that tends to be the most sought after but never fulled acquired, it is the low post spot. Mix that in with the fact that the summer is usually the biggest in terms of seperating out the good from the bad for the incoming junior class and you have the makings of a potential big next few months for a guy like Wes Obermeier. At the end of last July, it looked like Obermeier, a 6’6 power forward from Gibson Southern and Pocket City Basketball, could be a guy to watch.
He put up some solid stat lines from this past high school season but the thing that caught my eye was how well his body looked and how that shaped his game this past weekend. He’s more lean and looks stronger which allowed him to be fairly aggressive around the rim. He showed better mobility. He’s only 6’6 right now but if he can gain another inch or two, that would go a long way. His skills have sharpened and his body looks better and I’m interested to see how big of a step forward he goes against better talent.
