Reuvers had has the type of consistently productive versatile frontcourt scoring year that has brought numerous high major programs to Lakeville to see him play this year.
He continued that high level production last Friday night putting up 21 points on 7 of 10 shooting in a grinder of a game where JM freshman Matthew Hurt made Reuvers going over his length nearly every time and that didn’t seem to bother Reuvers.
The two second half fall away jumpers over Matt’s reach were incredible. The mid-lane attack scores in the first half were very impressive. The late game NBA three was one of the biggest shots of the game. Overall Reuvers was the section title game MVP and is leading his team into a huge state tournament game against Maple Grove and Missouri signed big Reed Nikko.
“It’s pretty amazing since this is the 5th in a row our program has been to state,” Nate told NHR. “It just shows how much our team works hard.
“I think we are a better team than we were last year so this state tournament is a little different because I expect us to make a deep run. I’m just super excited that I get to play with a great group of guys doing what I love.”
The Panthers are sitting at 24-5 on the season and Reuvers is giving 20 points a game. Nate has 15 D1 offers including Creighton, DePaul, San Diego, Duquesne, Santa Clara, and now the University of Wisconsin.
“Getting the offer shows a lot,” said Reuvers. “It shows a big school like Wisconsin believes I’m a good enough player to compete there. It definitely felt great getting that offer after stepping up big for my team and getting the win.
Badger coach Greg Gard watched Reuvers in Rochester last Friday night and that evening an offer came to Reuvers. And we expect it will be the first of many high major offers to come to Nate this spring (Creighton and DePaul are also major conference offers he has).
