Recruiting Report: Nassir Little (2018)
Nassir Little owned the spotlight at the Hoop Exchange/SourceHoops Florida Travel Team Jamboree this past weekend.
For starters, Oakleaf’s 2018 6’6, 200-pound small forward posterized a helpless defender with a monster two-handed slam that went viral. But more importantly, he put on a show with Showtime Hoops in a big win over Each 1 Teach 1. On a court littered with four and five-star prospects, Little proved to be the best star on display.
Little threw down high-flying dunks, dominated the glass on both ends, showed a competitive fire and was not to be denied. He has a lanky frame, elite athleticism, great back to the basket moves and supreme finishing ability.
He can blow by bigger defenders on the perimeter, stroke it from deep, and a powerful force in the interior with quick feet and extremely explosive. He’s an imposing force defensively and a rim protector with his long arms and quick leaping ability. And if he’s coming down in transition, forget about it and step aside.
Little averaged 17 points, nine rebounds, three assists and three blocks a game this season. He also shot an impressive 58 percent from the floor and 51 percent clip from 3-point range.
He oozes with five-star potential and figures to be a high major plus prospect. Little already holds offers from FSU, Miami, UF, and UCF. Little delved into his recruitment.
“I’ve drawn recent interest from Duke, Georgetown, Kansas, Alabama, Wake Forest and Georgetown,” Little said. “I’m looking for a program that will allow me to play on the perimeter and likes to get out in transition. Also, a program that will develop my guard skills and help me become a better overall player.”
Little explained what position he envisions playing at the next level and what he’s improving upon this summer.
“I see myself playing at the 2 or 3 at the next level,” Little said. “I’m working on my handles this offseason.”
There’s a bright future in store for this young talent.
