The 6’5, 195-pound 2018 combo guard poses severe mismatches. He has an ideal frame and bullies defenders to the rim. He’s an elite finisher and gets to the line with ease. Jones can break off defenders and stroke it from deep on defenders who lay off. Jones has shown flashes where he can take over a game and is dangerous in transition. He’s also proven he’s able to close out games and possesses that swagger. He’s an adept passer, and his ceiling is sky high.
There’s a reason the five-star guard is ranked the 12th best sophomore in the country by ESPN. Jones spearheads E1T1 16 U team, arguably the top squad in the state. It’s no surprise they are undefeated thus far.
He can do it all.
“If you want me to score, I’ll score. If you want me to pass, I’ll pass.”
Jones holds offers from Rutgers, South Carolina, Dayton and USF. He’s drawing heavy interest from Syracuse, Florida State, Florida and Miami.
Jones listed two schools that stand out.
“I’m liking Syracuse and Georgetown right now,” Jones said. “But I’m open to all schools.”
The confident Jones highlighted what he’s working on this offseason.
“I’m working on my athleticism and trying to dunk on people more,” Jones said.
“I also want to stay efficient and keep posting consistent numbers. I see myself playing the two at the next level and want to continue improving my overall guard skills.”
Expect Jones to make some noise on the circuit this offseason.
