New 2018 Prospect Rankings
As we started last week, we will be releasing our latest version of our prospect rankings. We will give our overall rankings, break them down by position, and show the biggest movers, and guys to watch over the next few months. Today, we are continuing this week with the class of 2018.
New Faces
It has been a minute since we have updated the class of 2018 rankings and we have a lot of new faces on this list. Actually, we have 50. Many fall into the middle of the pack but some of the top outliers include Walter Ellis of South Bend Adams, Caleb Brown of North Central, and Mekhi Lairy of Evansville Bosse.
This new group helps to layout the bigger picture of this class. There is plenty of size in this group with guys like Gavin Bizeau of Plainfield and DaKei Hines of Gary Roosevelt. It’s a little bigger than some of the most recently classes of 2016 and 2017. Some high-major talents but depth, plenty of depth.
Moving Up
The biggest news of this updated ranking is the new overall #1 player, New Albany’s Romeo Langford. He’s been the top guy for a while and has put some separation from the rest of the pack.
Some other names that have proven themselves over the last few months and moved up the ranks are guys like McCutcheon’s Robert Phinisee, South Bend Riley’s Damezi Anderson, and Ben Davis’ Aaron Henry.
