There was no change made to the top 5 this time around, but plenty of revamping to the rest of the rankings. We also added 40 players, extending the list from 50 to 100. These guys have an ever-important 16U grassroots season ahead of them – look for even more shakeup then.

New to Top 10
Van Rees: No. 6 (formerly unranked) — After playing sparingly as a freshman with the Black Raiders, Rees has burst onto the scene this season as not only a top prospect, but a D1-caliber guy. He’s leading 4A averaging 11.2 rebounds per game, and is one of just four guys averaging a double-double in Iowa’s largest class.
New to Top 25
Hunter Strait: No. 11 (formerly No. 40) — Cedar Rapids Washington point guard is being monitored by high-majors (Iowa State, Ohio State), and has been sensational since the Holiday Break.
Derick Diggins: No. 12 (formerly unranked) — He was a key player last season as a freshman with Cedar Rapids Kennedy, and is the go-to guy this season.
Nate Mohr: No. 15 (formerly No. 44) — The Glenwood point guard is having one of the best statistical seasons of any sophomore in the state; 17.6 points, and 5 assists per game.
Nathan Johnson: No. 16 (formerly unranked) — He’s playing some key minutes with one of 4A’s top teams. The tall and strong small forward could blow up this summer with Kingdom Hoops.
Carter Stevens: No. 17 (formerly unranked) — He’s the leading scorer for Dubuque, Senior, and though he’s small, he’s producing big results.
Joe Weber: No. 19 (formerly No. 26) — Boyer Valley point guard is second in the state among sophomores in scoring, only he and top-ranked Joe Wieskamp average more than 20 points per game.
Jordan Lake: No. 22 (formerly unranked) — Another guard from a 4A school who is leading his team in scoring (15 ppg).
Johnny Supple: No. 23 (formerly unranked) — A key contributor on a very good senior-laden squad, he’s in line to be the main-man next season.
Garrett Sturtz: No. 25 (formerly unranked) — Sturtz has emerged as a star alongside top-50 2017 Connor Gholson, the two of them makeup one of the state’s best backcourts.
