New to Top 10
Jal Bijiek: No. 4 (formerly No.7) — He’s been the main story line this season in the 2017 class, and after a big summer with Kingdom Hoops Elite, he’s really making himself known with the Polar Bears. The 6-foot-7 small forward is rangy and bouncy, which has aided him in becoming 4A’s best shot-blocker. He’s also averaging 14.5 points, and 9.2 rebounds per game.
Douglas Wilson: No. 9 (formerly No. 11) — The Des Moines Hoover power forward is starting to receive some Division I inquiries, and it’s not surprising as he’s one of just three guys averaging a double-double in 4A. An athletic, and long 6-foot-6, Wilson is leading the way for the Huskies, averaging 16.1 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks per game.
Trenton Hilbrands: No. 10 (formerly No. 16) — Without question we’ve written about Hilbrands more than any other player in the last month, and if we’re writing about you it generally means you’re doing some thing good. To describe the LeMars point guard’s season as “good” would be a gross understatement. He’s averaging 25.3 points per game on 59 percent shooting (40 3FG%); also 8.6 rebounds, and 4.4 assists.
New to Top 25
Lim Chuol No. 17 (formerly No. 37) — The triple-double machine is ready to become one of the state’s best SFs.
Max Techau No. 18 (formerly No. 46) — He’s been efficient and versatile for the Saints all year.
Levi Jungling No. 21 (formerly No. 26) — Had a coming out party last season at the state tourney – he’s just solid.
Brant DeMeulenaere No. 24 (formerly No. 59) — Great size, good shooting and does a little bit of everything.
Kyle Nevitt No. 25 (formerly No. 36) — Potential to be a shut-down defender – an athletic 6-foot-4 wing who can score.
