-Most Valuable Player-
Reed Myers 6’0 2019 Scottsdale Christian – Myers was the most consistent player for the state champion Eagles. Though he only managed to score 6 points in the final game the freshman guard averaged 14 points, 5.3 assists, 2.8 steals, and 2.5 rebounds. Reed played with poise beyond his years and earned Most Valuable Player honors in the process.
-All-Tournament Team-
Rex Greabell 6’6 2016 Estrella Foothills – The senior forward has been dominant all season and nothing changed during the state tournament. Greabell averaged 17.5 points and 10.3 rebounds throughout the week. His 12 points and 6 rebounds in the title game, however, were not enough to earn his team the title.
Antaveus Brown 6’4 2016 Estrella Foothills – Brown finished his year strong with a great state tournament performance. The 6’4” forward averaged 14.3 points and 6.8 rebounds for the Wolves including scoring 16 points in both the quarterfinals and semifinals.
Kurt Wood 6’4 2016 Snowflake – Wood was great all season long and stepped his game up even more in the tournament. The 6’4” senior led the Lobos all the way to the semifinals where they fell to eventual state champion SCA.
Ethan Spry 6’7 2019 Scottsdale Christian – Spry was huge for the Eagles as their biggest inside presence. He was key on the glass, averaging 8 rebounds per game including pulling down 7 in the championship game while holding Rex Greabell to no offensive rebounds. Ethan also averaged 10.3 points and 1.5 blocks during the week.
