The St. Croix Lutheran community came out in a big way to support sophomore Garett Maag during our Player Of The Week voting, winning him the award by a decisive margin.
Maag of course was Mr. Big Shots for St. Croix Lutheran against DeLaSalle, scoring a put-back offensive rebound after a free throw with 0.7 seconds left to win. It was SCL’s first win over DeLaSalle in 11 years and the first conference loss for De in several years.
“It was just a right place, right time kind of play,” Maag said. “We win as a team and lose as a team, and that win was a true team effort. I’m just blessed to be part of this team and community, everyone has been very supportive!”
Although he’s just a sophomore, Maag has established a trusted role off the bench for the Crusaders.
“I’m basically an utility man,” Maag said. “Coming off the bench, I play a 1-4 based on the needs of the coaches and match-ups.”
Maag plays spring/summer ball with Select. Congrats on winning our Wisconsin Dells Player of the Week award!
