Motivated by two losses to SLUH last season, the Statesmen came out strong defensively in holding the Jr. Bills to four points in the first quarter and 16 points in the first half. The two teams could meet again for the district championship next month.

Evaluations
Webster Groves
Chris Gordon 6’5″ (2016): The hard-working power forward scored 17 points and was active on the both ends of the court, especially on the glass. Has shown tremendous improvement as a senior. Plays with a high motor and has been getting great results all season.
Leland Bradford 5’10” (2016): Strong, southpaw point guard who can get in the lane on the regular with his strength and quick first step. He is starting to shoot the ball well from the perimeter to keep defenses honest. Scored 10 points against SLUH.
Cameron Potts 6’0″ (2017): The talented junior guard picked up two early fouls and had to sit much of the first half. He is a smooth shooter who can hit the mid-range jumper and stretch it out to 3-point range.
Kevin Butler 5’9″ (2017): Quick, junior point guard who really excels on the defensive end. Provides ball handling and added pressure to Webster’s excellent defensive schemes.
Courtney Ramey 6’2″ (2018): Nationally-ranked sophomore guard who scored a game-high 18 points. Knocked down a couple of nice 3-pointers off the dribble. Possesses slick handles and the ability to escape and create his own shot. His length makes him a very good defender on the ball as well. Very good rebounder. Already has a bunch of Division I offers.
SLUH
Matt Nester 5’11” (2016): Solid point guard who has been a starter for four years, Recently picked up his 1,000th career point. Excellent 3-point shooter, but did not get many good looks on this night as Statesmen defenders did a good job of crowding him. Headed to Division III power Washington University.
Brandon McKissic 6’2″ (2017): Physical combo guard who is at his best when getting to the basket. Does an excellent job of finishing in traffic around the rim. He also has a nice stop and pop jumper from 15 feet to accompany his driving ability. Has offers from Division I schools Missouri State and UMKC.
Brett Smith 6’7″ (2017): Long active forward who led the Jr. Bills with 16 points on Friday night. Does a good job scoring around the basket and can put the ball on the floor and score on the drive. Constantly improving his game.
B.J. Wilson 6’7″ (2017): A physical force inside at about 250 pounds. Scored six points, including a big two-handed tip dunk in the second half. Has continued to improve his play this season. Can finish strong around the basket.
Mikey Sanders 5’9″ (2018): Young point guard who plays off the ball in SLUH’s three-guard alignment. He is an impressive 3-point shooter off the catch.
