A 6-foot-1, 168-pound senior, Oliver Edwards is a strong perimeter shooter and brings toughness to the court for the No. 2 ranked Lee’s Summit Tigers, now 17-0 this season.
“He can really shoot it, but he hasn’t had to yet,” Little said. “He leads us in charges taken and plays really tough defense — he can play three positions, from the 2 to the 3 and can even guard the post.
“He is our most versatile guy and his versatility allows us to mix and match a lot. He is also a very vocal leader. The kids really listen to him and he does a great job.”
Edwards has played his summer ball with Eclipse, Next Level and NDaGym and says he brings competitiveness to the court.
“I’m a shooter that brings offense and defense and competitiveness,” he said.
Edwards is averaging 10 points and five rebounds per game as the Tigers’ fourth option on offense.
“He just does a little big of everything,” Little said. “He plays hard and he plays smart.”
