Prep Hoops Indiana Player of the Week
The second full week of January lent itself to the home for a ton of high-end performances against high-end competition. This week’s nominees are plenty worthy but interestingly most come in the form of 2018 guards. Some big performances by the sophomore class this week. Here is a look at the nominees. Robert Phinisee (McCutcheon) – The 2018 point guard dropped 30 points in a huge road win against Logansport on Friday night. He followed that up with 12 points, 11 assists, and 5 rebounds in a win against Zionsville on Saturday night.
Cam Chadd (Southmont) – The 2018 guard scored 34 points in a loss to Seeger on Friday night. He then scored 24 points in a win against West Vigo on Saturday night.
Franklin Nunn (Liberty Christian) – The 2016 wing had 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocks in a win over Seton Catholic on Friday night. He followed that up with 40 points and 13 rebounds in a win over Muncie Burris on Saturday night.
Romeo Langford (New Albany) – The 2018 wing had 32 points in a win over Madison on Friday night. He then scored a school single-game record 44 points in a win over Scottsburg on Saturday night.
Eric Hunter (Indianapolis Tindley) – The 2018 lead guard scored 27 points in a win on Friday night over Indianapolis International. He also scored 35 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists in a win over Shortridge on Saturday night.
Mekhi Lairy (Evansville Bosse) – The 2018 guard scored 25 points in a win over Evansville Reitz on Tuesday. He scored 34 points, 7 rebound, 8 assists in a win over Evansville Harrison on Friday night. He scored 23 points in a loss to Castle in the SIAC Championship game.
