-Wilmington senior shooting guard Jarron Cumberland had a game-high 33 points as host Wilmington defeated Lakota East 72-59 on Wednesday night. Cumberland, who is signed with the University of Cincinnati, was 11 of 17 shooting from the field and 11 of 14 from the free-throw line. He also had nine rebounds, two blocks and two steals for Wilmington (9-0).
-Lakota East 2017 forward Evan Kuhlman had a career-high 28 points including six 3-pointers. The 6-7 forward had 16 points in the first quarter, including four 3-pointers.
-Elder senior 6-foot guard Frankie Hofmeyer won MVP honors of the Fort Lauderdale Beach Holiday Classic. Elder defeated Westminster Academy 53-49 to win the team title. He had 17 points on Wednesday.
-Kings 2017 guard Tyler Mitchell had a game-high 17 points to go along with four rebounds and three assists in the Knights’ 46-38 win over host Lakota West. Mitchell also had a season-high four 3-pointers to lift Kings to its fifth win of the season. He was 4 of 6 on 3-pointers.
-St. Xavier 2017 guard Greg Ruppert had a season-high 19 points as the Bombers defeated Cardinal Newman (S.C.) 50-42. Ruppert made four 3-pointers and was 5 of 6 from the free-throw line.
-Moeller senior 6-7 forward Sam McCracken had a season-high 15 points to go along with five rebounds as the Crusaders defeated St. Francis (Ga.) 59-42 on Wednesday night. McCracken was 7 of 11 from the field in 27 minutes. Moeller plays Mater Dei (Calif.) in the fifth place game of the Beach Ball Classic at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
-Talawanda senior 6-2 guard Jacob Hiler had 22 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals in a 46-32 win over visiting Twin Valley South. It was the second straight night Hiler put up more than 20 points. He had 27 Tuesday night at Preble Shawnee.
-Woodward 2017 guard Will Coker had a season-high 33 points on 12 of 17 from the field and 9 of 10 from the free-throw line as the Bulldogs defeated Dohn Community School 102-42.
