Over the next week we will be breaking down our list of the top 20 overall player/prospects in the state of Arizona considering potential, projection, and production.
15. Timmy Allen 6’4″ SG 2018 Desert Ridge
As a freshman Timmy showed that he has the potential to be a dominant scorer in the AIA. The 6’4″ sophomore has trimmed his body and continued to improve his abilities. Currently a mid major prospect, his knack for putting the ball in the basket from just about everywhere on the floor is a unique asset that could allow him to play at an even higher level.
14. Tim Fuller 6’9″ C 2016 Highland
Fuller may be the most overlooked player in the state of Arizona. The 6’9″ post is as skilled as any player with his back to the basket. He is not overly athletic but has great footwork, finishes well with both hands, and just has a great feel for the game around the rim. A mid major prospect, Tim will spend two years on a Mormon mission trip before hitting the hardwood for Weber State at the collegiate level.
13. Brock Gardner 6’7″ SF 2016 Tri-City
A Liberty signee, Gardner could not have picked a better fit for his abilities. The 6’7″ forward is athletically gifted vertically and has a versatile skill set which, combined with his frame, makes him a tough matchup in the Big South. Except him to be a guy that can provide some immediate minutes as a freshman due to his energy and ability to put the ball in the cup.
12. Michael Bibby 6’1″ PG 2016 Shadow Mountain
Bibby is a player who, regardless of how good he is, will always be scrutinized because of the in-state comparisons with his father Michael Bibby, Sr. Bibby, Jr., however, is a very good player in his own right. The 6’1″ point guard is a playmaker with a great feel for the game, excellent court vision, and deep range from the perimeter. He reads defenses and is able to see things on the court before they develop. A mid major prospect, he has very transferrable skills to the college level and could be a great pickup for a successful program in needs of a distributor and decision maker that can also stretch the floor.
11. Brendan Rumel 6’11” PF 2016 Rincon
There may not be a senior that has improved his stock more than Rumel over the past year. As his confidence grew so did his production. He is a very lengthy and mobile forward that covers a lot of ground defensively. He runs the floor like a perimeter player and has a multitude of skills on the offensive end. He has a ton of tools and is beginning to put it together. A mid major prospect, choosing Portland State will allow him to play through mistakes and gain experience early in his career which could prove vital for his future collegiate success.
