Brandon Eades
6’3 – SG – 2017
Eades is a big guard who has a a versatile game at times. Struggled to find his way in this one but drew some fouls early on drives at the rim. He can handle the ball a bit but has to pick his spots a bit better. Has some length and with time could be a nice wing defender. – 3 points
Jack Nunge
6’10 – PF – 2017
Nunge looked decent in this one. He’s got some things to work on but he showed why he picked up an offer from Vanderbilt the other night. Great stretch four player with range well beyond the three point line. Has better touch around the rim than this summer. Has to work on his hands. Struggles to catch post feeds in traffic or grab rebounds with competition. Once he has it he can make a play, though. Had a couple really nice drives to the rim from the arc against Jaylen Butz. Can by dynamic player at next level. – 15 points
Payton Mills
6’5 – SF – 2017
Payton Mills was the most unexpected player in this one. He was aggressive and extremely effective on his drives. Got the team’s first 7 points and didn’t let up. He’s a big guy to stop at 6’5 and he took advantage of some of those matchups. Got a couple and-one opportunities but has some room to improve (making FTs). – 18 points
Noah McLean
6’0 – SG – 2017
McLean was equally as impressive as Mills. Whenever Mills wasn’t grabbing rebounds or finishing at the rim, it was McLean. He had a ton of free throw opportunities. Played as hard as anyone in the game. Really strong kid at 6’0 who can be physical in all facets of the game. A shooting guard who would be more of a scorer at this point. – 18 points
Fort Wayne North:
Juan Quarles
6’1 – PG – 2017
Quarles had two big stretches in the game. He a pair of threes in the first half and kept FW North close. His perimeter shooting was the best for North all game as they struggled to get offense going early. He also had a banked, corner three followed by an and-one in transition. He’s got a lean body with size on the perimeter. Good shooter and best skill right now. Could develop some more off the ball in next few months.- 16 points
Jaylen Butz
6’8 – PF – 2017
Butz looked really impressive. He has grown for sure and looks 6’9 matched up against the 6’10 Nunge. He has put a focus, at least in this game, of playing in the paint and his touch around the rim is really good right now. Was able to post up Nunge and others and scoring over his right shoulder. He’s so long that he can defend on the perimeter but Nunge did get him a few times there. He’s got good hands in the post and was able to rebound effectively. – 17 points
Davontae Kinnie
5’9 – PG – 2017
Kinnie is such an unselfish player, it is almost a fault for him. He’s got to take the ball and score a little more often. He’s a great passer and will set his teammates up well. He drove into the paint in transition with a trailing Quarles and was able to give him a wide open three that Juan knocked down. He doesn’t have ideal size but he can play at 5’9 against bigger, more talented guards without issue. He’s really tough, hard-nosed and guy that can lead a team. – 6 points
Keion Brooks
6’7 – SF – 2019
Brooks is going to take some time to put it all together but he’s pretty good as is. He struggled handling the ball and got called for quite a few turnovers early on. He’s comfortable shooting the ball but made his hay at the free throw line and on putbacks in the paint. Good free throw shooter and a guy who isn’t afraid to go in with the trees and mix it up. Solid game from the freshman. – 20 points
