Senior center Will Gladson has committed to Princeton University on New Year’s Eve. The 6’10” Gladson made his announcement on his twitter account. Gladson also had offers from IUPUI, SIU-Edwardsville and Brown.
Gladson becomes the fourth Chaminade player who’s headed to the Division I ranks, joining teammates Jayson Tatum (Duke), Tyler Cook (Iowa) and Mike Lewis II (Duquesne).
Gladson entered the high school ranks as a highly-touted prospect, but a series of knee injuries has curtailed his progress throughout his career. Each time, Gladson has managed to battle back and put himself in position to receive a scholarship.
He spent the past summer playing for the St. Louis Eagles 17U team that advanced to the championship game of the Nike EYBL Peach Jam in July. Gladson also played well in July as the Eagles also won two big tournaments. He has developed into a stout post defender and a very effective 3-point shooter.
