Louisiana Player of the Week Results: 11/29 – 12/05
McNeese Signee Kelvin Henry Jr won this week with over 1100 votes and 41% of the votes. After averaging over 20 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals and leading his team to a runner-up finish at Teurlings Tournament, voters believed the St. Louis point guard was the player of the week.
He helped lead St. Louis to the Top 28 last season and was a mere point away as a Sophomore. They are looking to get back to the Top 28 and are playing a tough schedule to prepare. His near triple double against Cecilia last week was impressive: 25 points, 8 assists, 10 rebounds, 6 steals.
2nd place in the voting was Javonte Smart with 28% after scoring 29 against LCA in the championship game of the massive Showdown in the Lake tournament. He was named the MVP.
3rd place was freshman KJ Franklin (19% of votes) who continues to impress. He scored 23 last night. Noah Griffin and Tykeem Anderson each had big weeks as well. Anderson had 8% of votes and Griffin 4%.
