The Inaugural Vantage Hoops Holiday Classic tips off this Saturday, December 19th at Woodbridge Senior High School, with five quality high school match-ups all within the state of Virginia. Vantage Hoops will preview each game before the event tips off this weekend.
Osbourn of Manassas will take on Meadowbrook from Chesterfield in the third game of the day at 4:00 p.m.
Meadowbrook enters the contest with a record of 2-3. The Monarchs boast several college level prospects and great length in their lineup.
Senior guard Amp Williams has exploded on the scene this year, averaging 20 points and six rebounds per game. The 6’4’’ guard has deep range and score it at all three levels. Williams is long and capable of guarding multiple positions and helping on the glass.
Senior wing Richard Legree is the team’s second leading scorer, posting 12 points a game. Legree is a 6’5’’ lefty who helps with ball handling responsibilities, finishes around the rim and can shoot the three ball.
Look for junior floor general Tre’Man Pope to provide the Monarchs with a third scoring option and handle point guard responsibilities. Fellow junior Jordan Jeter will provide athleticism in the open floor and a rebounding presence on the defensive end.
Osbourn has posted a 4-3 record thus far on the young season. The Eagles have scored wins over Langley, South County, and McLean.
Jeremiah Delaney leads the Eagles, averaging 21.5 points per contest, including a 30 point outburst against Forest Park. Delaney is an explosive lead guard who defends, can score it in bunches and create for others.
6’1’’ guard Anthony Pearson is Osbourn’s second leading scorer, right at 10 points per game. The junior combo guard can shoot it and finish at the rim. He posted a season high 22 points against South County.
Look for Meadowbrook to try to limit Delaney’s touches, while Osbourn will attempt to contain Williams and Legree on the perimeter.
