- Yes the Islanders will have a time of transition and there are likely to be some struggles against the tougher teams early but when it comes to late season Coach Thorson will have them rolling and a team that has more talent than any in Class AAA will likely get title number five.
- Marshall. I know they lost some quality seniors. That said there are some senior workers, the junior class of talent is deep and has a guy at every position, and there are good sophomores as well. The Tigers are for real, but like DeLaSalle there will be a transition period.
- Rocori. Lost only five games last year and bring back all the top scoring, rebounding, and creating pieces. They came up short of state last year but the guys are now a year more experienced. Big expectations.
- Johnson. Yes the big name guy are gone which includes a lot of big number producers but they still have a five man senior class of good players and an excellent sophomore group coming in. They will be right there again.
- Waconia. The Cats lose their frontcourt but the backcourt is back and is deep as ever. They have several shooters and playmakers to produce plus one of the best coaches in Class AAA in Patrick Hayes. Cats will be there again.
- Delano. This is a team that had a lot of young players thrown into the mix and while there were some losses they did well and now join Matt Kreklow who is fully healthy. Big expectations are there and they have one of the hardest working coaches out there in Coach Techam.
- Mankato East. The initial thought was the Cougars would take a step back, play some youth, and then next year be back in the thick of things. That changed when the returning players showed to be better than expected and Krisean Coffee's talents joined up after a move from Chicago.
- Mahtomedi. The move of Shayne Frost to Minnesota, the development of Parker Fox, the return of Lucas Buller, and the regular toughness that they play with, it's all there and now that they are in Class AAA we think they can make a run.
- Northfield. Another team that dropped down from Class AAAA, the Raiders did so at a perfect time. Harris and Koep are back after good junior years and there is talented size. The Raiders have a shot to make a run.
- Benilde-St. Margaret's. The Red Knights are back. They had a bit of an off time when Lumpkin/Zierden/Dunn/Washington moved on but with Sam Baker and Eli Cave leading the way the BSM Knights will be back towards the top of the class once again.
- Fridley should be solid, Henry could be in the rankings quickly as they return the top two scorers and added solid transfers, Kato West still has Jake Dale, Sam Sustacek will lead a new group of Orono guys, and don't forget about Red Wing. These are some teams that are likely to be in the rankings this year as well.
