Thursday is Opening Day

  • Normally on a night with only seven games being played and only three ranked teams playing (high school team rankings will be out within the next 24 hours) would be a slow night but when it's the first day of the season, you get a headline article!
  • Game of the night has to be Monticello vs Orono.  The game puts Sam Sustacek and a new cast around him against sensational playmaker Matt Todd and the Monticello Magic.  This is likely to be the destination of those in the metro who want to see high school basketball.
  • The other metro game is Class AA contender St. Paul Academy and leaders Dalante Peyton and Kent Hanson sent to embark and their final run and it starts against St. Croix Prep who will be missing 35 a night from Michael G.  The contest likely won't be that competitive but it's opening night man, who knows what will happen!
  • The game I would like to see more than any other is Mike Coble and Byron taking on Justin Rohberg and St. Charles.  These are two of the better talents in that area and night one should be excellent.  When
