Bell stands at 6’5” with a strong build while also being a quality athlete. The junior has the ability to score in bunches. He can get in the lane with an explosive first step where he finishes in the paint. Also is a plus spot up three point shooter from the wings and corners. Rebounds well for his position.
Bell spoke about his upcoming season at Joliet West.
“The team is looking really good. I like how we are coming together. We have a lot of versatility and all play multiple positions which is good for rotation wise. We are really competitive which is also another advantage. I like our chances this year.”
After a big summer with the Illinois Wolves 16U Bell looks to take what he learned there back to his high school team.
“I try to be a leader and lead by example. Picking everybody up when they are down. Try to expand what we can do. Whether I need to step out or go in the post depending on our personnel on the floor.”
Where did he see his game grow this summer?
“I think my guard skills have improved. Last year I played a forward and more inside for my high school. My shooting has gotten a lot better. My dribbling has improved. I think I am going to be handling the ball a lot more.”
He updated us on the latest with recruiting.
“I have recently heard from South Dakota and St. Louis. I went on a visit to Illinois State to watch them practice. I plan to go on a visit to Wisconsin Green Bay.”
Bell broke down the Illinois State visit and what stood out about them.
“I like their pace of the practice. The play really fast and open. They move around a lot. I like how they communicate with each other and really want to play with each other.”
Illinois State and UIC are his first two offers. He spoke about what stands out with UIC’s program.
“I like the coaching staff. They seem really passionate about this year. I think they have a good chance of having a big season.”
