Continue ReadingVincennes University sophomore small forward Stuart Jackson is a very intriguing prospect at 6’5”. The long and rangy wing is a plus athlete that is super bouncy. He really runs the floor well and finishes in the transition game. Jackson is also a plus catch and shoot guy from the perimeter knocking them down with sound mechanics and consistency. If his defender flies at him Jackson has the ability to slash to the hoop. Defensively has potential with his tools and lateral quickness, but plays a bit high at times. Mid-majors should take a look at him!
Jackson talked about how it is going early in the season.
“We are just trying to get better. We got off to a rough start, but we are taking it day by day and actually play by play. It is a building process.”
What does he see his role being on the team?
“I am the guy that does the little things like taking the charge, run the floor, box out, guard any positon. I am not trying to be the leading scorer, but if I have to I will. I just want to fill a role. I want to help lead our young team.”
As a prospect going forward he talked about the strengths in his game at the next level.
“I feel like my shot has gotten a lot better. I can stretch the floor. Defensively off the ball and on the ball. I pride myself in getting at least one charge a game.”
What is going on with recruiting?
“I haven’t been hearing from any schools right now. I am not really focused on that. I know being at Vincennes if we are doing well they will come so recruiting isn’t the main thing I am looking at. I just want us to have a good year for my sophomore year.”
