The athletic and rangy 2019 guard stands out on the defensive end. His length and lateral quickness play well on that end of the floor as he very rarely allows his man to get in the lane. Offensively he is smooth and fluid with the ball in his hands making quick moves attacking the hoop. Finishes well inside and shows potential on a jump shot.
We spoke with Cowan about how it went on the 14U level this past summer with the Illinois Wolves.
“It was good. We executed well. We passed the ball and shared it. We just have to talk more on defense.”
The freshman gave us his personal scouting report on his game.
“Long. Can get up the floor well. Can dribble and shoot well. I guard the ball, get deflections, and stay in front of the ball.”
What does he see his role being as a freshman for DePaul College Prep?
“Wing man that passes the ball and plays good defense.”
