He has a projectable frame where he should continue to grow a little more. Wills is so smooth athletically having slick handles in the open floor with the ability to get to the basket with ease. The Benton junior excels shooting the basketball particularly from mid-range with a free and easy stroke. He can also stretch it out to three on occasion. Defensively moves well laterally and should be a solid defender at the next level. Worth an early look for D3, NAIA, and JUCO programs.
Wills talked about his game.
“I am more of a plus shooter. My ball handling has gotten a lot better over the summer. That is one of my strengths now. My defense has improved. I got a lot quicker over the summer.”
The junior played up on the Downstate Vipers 17U this past summer on the circuit.
“It was pretty good. We got to go to Kentucky a few times and there were some pretty good tournaments also in St. Louis. It was good playing against seniors.”
How is preparation going for the season?
“Open gym has been good. We got bumped up to 3A this year so it is going to be a new experience. Schedule will kind of be the same, but we should have a lot of success this year.”
