Grambling struggled early against the scrappy Fairview team but in the end they were just too much. Brennan Maddox, an LSU baseball commit, gave everything he had scoring at will. Kae Williams was just more then Fairview could handle though as he was named game MVP. Enrico Hayes made key plays in the second half to stretch out the lead and Tylan Dean kept making Fairview get out of zone with numerous threes.
Atlanta over Anacoco
Everyone has been talking about Will Reese since the end of last season and he did have a very good performance and kept his team in the game throughout all four quarters but the game MVP and the best player on the floor that game was Lashard Powell. The mostly unknown guard was knocking down threes and made tough finishes at the basket. This small school guard is a for sure college prospect.
Fair Park over Leesville
Leesville has had a good start to the season without the services of Brady Westerchil but in this game the Wampus Cats could've used his shooting from beyond the arc. Leesville's three point shooting took them out of the game. But Fair Park also won this game mostly due to Sophomore Latravion Black who was the game MVP.
St. Thomas More over Huntington
With St. Thomas More still being in the football playoffs the Cougars were not at full strength but still came out on top. Sophomore standout John Cisse was the game MVP. Big man William Vincent was in foul trouble all game and eventually fouled out in the fourth while DeVante Benjamin had a good defensive showing
Captain Shreve over Simsboro
This game had quite some buzz surrounding it with Simsboro entering the game at 11-0. But the small school had a tough 5A school which proved to be too much. Zachary Taylor gave everything he had until eventually fouling out late in the fourth. Simboro got down 22 in the second quarter but came storming back cutting the lead all the way down to three. But Toronco Loston made too many plays for Capt Shreeve. He was named MVP.
Bossier over Ouachita
Jay Head was a good surprise to us on Saturday showing us he is a strong athletic forward who can also stretch the floor. But Bossier held them off all game long. Larry Robinson stay solid all game long and didn't force the issue which eventually led to him getting MVP.
North Caddo over C. E. Byrd
In the best match-up of the day on paper and also on the court Byrd just couldn't stop Robert Williams. The Texas A&M signee may be the top prospect in the state. He was game MVP and deservingly so. Byrd had a solid showing from Cedric Harris and Kory Ashley.
