We will preview the preseason candidates over the next couple of weeks. As the season goes along new candidates can emerge for the award.
The first Mr. Oklahoma nominee we have comes from Edmond. 2016 Edmond Memorial Forward Kristian Doolittle took his game to another level this summer playing with Athletes First in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League. Doolittle does so many good things on the court.
It starts with his ability to defend at an extremely high level. On the opposite end of the floor Doolittle has become very versatile. This summer he even brought the ball up the floor for Edmond Memorial at times. Over the summer Doolitte improved his ball handling, quickness, and jump shot.
Doolittle has stuck to his commitment to the Oklahoma Sooners and plans to sign early in the next couple of weeks. He is ranked 62nd nationally in the 2016 ESPN Top 100.
Doolittle may not be the flashiest, but he is super athletic, works hard, and does what ever he can do to give his team a victory. Some have compared Doolittle to a young Jimmy Butler.
At Edmond Memorial this season Doolittle will have his hands full. Several key players have graduated off of last years State Semifinal team. Doolittle will be called upon to lead the Bulldogs on and off the court. Prep Hoops Oklahoma will keep a close eye on the race for Mr. Oklahoma, but one thing is for sure, Doolittle is in the running.
