Once consistent theme is the ability to score from and defend multiple positions. While most of the group is best with the ball in their hands, some will need to learn to do more than score with it.
Four players reside in the overall top 9 and fall into this category. Josh Anderson and Caleb Daniels will likely find themselves off the ball at the next level but with the chance to play some spot minutes at the one. The other two in Cedric Russell and Tae Martin are going to find themselves at the one more and more throughout high school which will likely lead to that position being played in college.
Cephis Gix is the ultimate combo as he is as high scoring as anyone in the state. He's been referred to as a 5'9 “Kobe” by multiple high school coaches in the area. LeAaron Cain is very similar and proved that by scoring 47 against East St. John already this season.
John Maximillion III and Chance Gasery are two bigger guards who play on and off the ball. JMax with his length often slides off the one but is a playmaker by nature while Gasery isn't as long but very thick and does his best work attacking the rim.
The next two are completely different in style. Deedy Gauno is a scorer in the mold of Gix both mindset and stature wise. Against UHigh when the team was in a slump, he took his defender into the post despite being 5'9. Caleb Starks is the lockdown defender for LCA and will take on the best player in the backcourt most of the time.
