Defensive Specialists
This group has a ton of defensive specialist whether it’s post defenders or shot blockers at the rim. DeAndre Ayton, Jake Hess, and Morningstar Takapu are among the many players that have the ability to change the game through their ability to alter and block shots. In addition Curtis Hodges may be the best post defender to walk the streets of Arizona in a long time.
Rebound Machines
One common factor with a lot of the players in this class is their motor. This leads them to being high level rebounders, regardless of size and athleticism. Ayton, Nigel Shadd, Gabe McGlothan, Tyson Beringer, George Faull, and Jimmy Brown are all guys who are game changers on the glass.
Star Power
There is no doubt that Ayton is the star of this class and an elite, NBA level type prospect. He has a chance to go down in history as one of the two best prospects this state has ever seen.
Division-I
While the level of D1 hoops is not yet set in stone, it’s pretty safe to say that numerous prospects will be playing at the Division-I level including Jake Hess, Curtis Hodges, Gabe McGlothan, and Nigel Shadd. Nate Graville also has an outside chance.
High Level D2
There are many prospects that can play at the highest small college level (NCAA D2/NAIA D1). Tyson Beringer, Jimmy Brown, George Faull, Nate Graville, Jared Rodriguez, and Morningstar Takapu top this list.
D3 Hoops
Santino Duarte, Sean Dunn, and Billy Jordan are guys that are borderline NCAA D2/NAIA D1 and NCAA D3/NAIA D2 recruits for numerous reasons. Some of the surefire guys that the NCAA D3/NAIA D2 levels should recruit however, include Rahjan Billingsley, Danny Docktor, Kai Fletcher, Bryce Gilbert, and Seth Mason.
