High Major Impact
The point guard position is the only one for the 2017 class the features multiple high major prospects. Alex Barcello and Saben Lee, who both attend Corona del Sol, have established themselves on the national level. Both have drawn interest and offers from high major conferences and will likely play in a BCS conference.
Division-I
There are four other guards with the ability to play Division-I basketball if their academics permit. Cesar Chavez standout Donald Carter was solid for Power all of July and has led Chavez throughout the fall. Apollo backcourt mates Dre Marin and Holland Woods have stepped their game up, especially Marin who raked in 2 Division-I offers in July. Hillcrest’s Dontez Thomas has also developed quite the reputation over the past few weeks.
NCAA D2/NAIA D1
This group of prospects is not deep at any position. It is headed by 5’11” Copper Canyon standout Treyvon McCray and 5’11” Salpointe playmaker Cameron Miller. 5’11” Ezekial Alley and 5’8” Habib Arogundade also have a chance at this level.
NCAA D3/NAIA D2
There are a lot of players that fit the description of a NCAA D3/NAIA D2 recruit. Names heading this group include Andres Mayberry, Mikey Silva, and Terriq Tshaka.
