Thoughts. They won the state title last year and considering what is returning and the coaching this team receives, many of the hoop heads in North Dakota are predicting another sure title. There are two starters back and most of the bench production, not to mention that Johnson and Engg have a chance to be fantastic. Lund is the big dog though who nearly averaged a double-double last year.
St. Mary’s
Returning Starters. Casey Uhler (6-3, PF, 12), Noah Kopp (6-0, SG, 12), Nathan Schumacher (5-10, PG, 12), Sam Willke (5-9, PG, 12)

New Talent. Cole Spies (6-0, PG, 11), Sam Harris (6-3, PF, 11)

Thoughts. They have to be trending up. They won only six games but bring back four starters and seven of their top eight guys. They have a senior core with Uhler and Kopp coming off solid years. They do lose leading scorer Thomas Barry but outside of that everything is back.
Turtle Mountain
Returning Starters. Landyn Keplin (5-10, G, 12)
Returning Bench Players. None
New Talent. Tazen Azure (6-2, SG, 10)
Trending. Down
Thoughts. After making a nice run in the West Region Tournament and making state, the Braves lose all but one guy from their team. That said, Keplin is a legit talent in a lot of ways . Excellent playmaking guard who will get some nominations for player of the year when it’s all done. But can he get some help?
Williston
Returning Starters. Caleb Owens (6-1, SF, 12), Boston Horob (6-1, SF, 12), DeSean Eikens (6-6, SF, 10),
Returning Bench Players. Brett Engen (6-2, SG, 12), Noah Haagenson (5-10, PG, 12),
New Talent. William Brown (6-4, PF, 10)

Thoughts. They have to be better. They only won four games last year but they have the top scorer in the state in DeSean plus they bring back two starters and a part time starter. This should be an improved team but how improved will they be is the question? What can this group do to win games as DeSean can’t score all the points and the top returning scorer is Owens at 4.7 points per game.
