PHF’s 24th-ranked 2017 Louis Dorsey has switched schools – from First Coast to Potter’s House Christian Academy – and is seeing a host of Division I interest come his way.
The talented junior has interest coming in from all over the country right now, from the Midwest to the Northeast.
“The schools recruiting me are Maryland, FGCU, Boston College, Illinois State, Buffalo, Murray State, Iona, Stephen F. Austin, Wichita State, Rhode Island, Coastal Carolina, North Carolina Central, and VCU,” said Dorsey. “
“I’d have to say Buffalo, Illinois State, and FGCU are recruiting me the heaviest right now.”
The 6-foot-7 guard spent his spring and summer playing with Team BluePrint Spartans, and says attacking the rim and improving his defense were areas of emphasis.
“What I was doing well was getting to the rim better, playing defense, and knocking down open shots,” said Dorsey. “My primary position is shooting guard, and my strengths are getting to the rim and making smart decisions with the ball. And my style of play is I'm an all-around player, I like to get my teammates involved.”
“I need to shoot more and work on my defense more so I can be able to guard smaller guards.”
After switching to The Potter’s House Christian Academy, Dorsey will join one of the state’s best bigs Udoka Azubuike, and says he simply wants to play his role, and win.
“My role will be different because we have Udoka Azubuike, so I have to just be another go to guy on the team,” said Dorsey. “I just need to continue to get better, and hopefully we can get a state championship.”
